Class of 2012 most geographically diverse class in College's history

The Class of 2012 was officially welcomed to the College following Monday's convocation ceremony.
The incoming freshman class was embraced by College President R. Barbara Gitenstein, along with faculty, alumni and current students.
A "necessity of civil discourse" and an understanding of "different points of view" were stressed by Gitenstein.
All state schools feel the pinch

Tuition increased 8 percent to $8,072 this year for full-time in-state students, the College's Board of Trustees announced at its meeting on July 8.
Tuition for out-of-state students rose 10 percent to $16,825.
The increases are steeper than last year, when tuition rose 6 percent for in-state students and 8 percent for out-of-state students.

Fiocco records sealed
Police records concerning the death of John Fiocco Jr. in 2006 have been sealed by the New Jersey Superior Court. The decision came after the investigative records were requested by the Fiocco family. Linda R. Feinberg, New Jersey Superior Court Judge, wrote in her public opinion that although evidence has not been discovered to suggest that Fiocco's death was a homicide,"(the Division of State Police) has not ruled out homicide, and a criminal investigation is ongoing.

Almost 200 student parking spaces in Lot 3 are permanently lost due to the construction of the Art and Interactive Multimedia (IMM) Building.
Matthew Golden, executive director of Public Relations and Communications, said the parking spaces, which were lost despite a reconfiguration of the lot during the summer, were in the footprint of the new building.

Free copies of The Wall Street Journal will no longer be available in the Business Building lobby, according to Jack Kirnan, interim dean of the School of Business, who recently decided to end the print contract.
"When you consider the cost of the program compared to the usage by the faculty and students, it didn't make sense to keep it," Kirnan said.

Construction of the Metzger Drive Apartments should be completed in July 2009, according to Bill Rudeau, director of campus construction.
"Progress has been very good with foundations completed and most studding completed," Rudeau said.
According to the College's Web site, the apartments will provide up to 400 beds for upperclassmen.

From concerts and a voter registration drive to a human regurgitator, campus leaders are working hard to bring exciting events to campus this semester.
Student Government Association (SGA) Executive President Dan Scapardine said SGA's priorities this year include a voter registration drive, co-sponsorships with clubs on campus and having a "stronger presence on campus," in addition to SGA's regular events such as Finals Fest.
